Full Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania – Arusha

Your adventure begins the moment you land at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Our professional driver will meet you for a comfortable transfer to your lodge in Arusha. Nestled close to  Arusha National Park, this lodge offers a peaceful environment where you can already spot some local bird species right from your room. Relax and enjoy your first night in Tanzania, preparing for the exciting days ahead.  Overnight: Lodge near Arusha National Park

Day 2: Arusha National Park – Birding & Wildlife Photography

Start your bird photography journey with a full day at Arusha National Park. This park’s diverse habitats include montane forests, which provide a haven for rare and endemic bird species like the Crowned Hawk-Eagle, Cinnamon-chested Bee-eater, and the melodious Ruppel’s Robin-Chat. Capture the stunning views of Mount Meru as you track birds and encounter giraffes, buffalos, and more.Overnight: Lodge in Arusha

Day 3-5: Tarangire National Park – The Birdwatcher’s Paradise

Travel to Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. The park is home to over 350 bird species, making it a premier destination for bird photography. Look out for the Yellow-collared Lovebird, African Grey Hornbill, and the stunning Ashy Starling. Spend the next three days exploring the park, combining birdwatching with wildlife encounters, as you photograph big cats, zebras, and antelope in the golden savannah.

Day 6: Lake Manyara National Park & Transfer to Ngorongoro

After breakfast, head to Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its diverse birdlife, particularly flamingos that feed along its alkaline shores. Other species to photograph include pelicans, storks, and kingfishers. Spend the day birding around the lake, capturing these stunning waterfowl and enjoying the park’s rich biodiversity. Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater – Birds and Big Five

Descend into the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and photograph an incredible variety of birds and wildlife. The crater is home to over 500 bird species, including the Kori Bustard, Grey-crowned Crane, and the endemic Hildebrandt’s Starling. Alongside birdwatching, you’ll encounter the famous Big Five: lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants, and buffalo. Capture these majestic creatures against the dramatic backdrop of the crater walls.

Day 8-10: Serengeti National Park – Iconic Wildlife & Bird Photography

Your bird photography safari continues in the world-renowned Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti is teeming with birdlife, from the colorful Lilac-breasted Roller  to the magnificent Secretary Bird. Over the next three days, explore the endless plains, photographing both birds and the incredible wildlife. Don’t miss the chance to witness the Great Migration if your tour aligns with the season, as millions of wildebeest and zebras cross the plains, attracting predators like lions and cheetahs.

As you explore, capture the park’s striking landscapes, including the famous Kopjes, which provide perfect vantage points for spotting raptors such as the Martial Eagle.

Day 10: Serengeti to Arusha – Departure

On your final day, enjoy a morning game drive and birdwatching as you make your way back to Arusha. Keep your camera ready for any last-minute bird sightings along the route.
