Overview of the Marangu Route - 5 Days

At Kiliclimb Africa Safaris, our 5-day Marangu Route adventure offers one of the most classic and comfortable journeys to the Roof of Africa. Known as the “Coca-Cola Route,” Marangu is the most budget-friendly trail to the summit and the only route featuring cozy mountain huts equipped with solar lighting and simple, comfortable beds. Mandara and Kibo Huts each offer 60 beds, while Horombo Hut hosts up to 120 climbers. Lower camps provide running water and basic washrooms, creating a smooth and pleasant acclimatization experience.

All climbing teams—often from around the world—share vibrant dining huts, creating a social and energetic mountain atmosphere. While traditionally completed in 5 days, the route can also be extended to 6 days for improved acclimatization, with an optional rest or acclimatization trek around Mawenzi.
