Who are the Hadzabe?

The Hadzabe (or Hadza) are one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer tribes in Tanzania, residing in the Baray and Karatu districts, particularly around Lake Eyasi in the Rift Valley.

This ancient ethnic group has lived in their territory for thousands of years, preserving their traditional lifestyle with minimal outside influence. Their language is a linguistic isolate, making them truly unique among global tribes.

Who are the Datoga?

The Datoga (or Wamang’ati) are a Nilotic tribe primarily found in the Karatu District of the Arusha Region, as well as historically in the Manyara and Singida regions.

Known for their pastoral lifestyle, the Datoga are skilled in metalwork, beadwork, and cattle herding, reflecting their deep cultural roots.
