Overview of the Marangu Route - 5 Days

The Marangu Route, often called the “Coca-Cola Route,” is the historic and most classic trail to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. As the oldest established path, it traces the footsteps of Hans Meyer, the first climber to reach Uhuru Peak in 1889. This route is celebrated for its well-maintained trail, gradual ascent, and dormitory-style huts, providing climbers with comfort and safety while traversing all of Kilimanjaro’s ecological zones, from lush tropical forests to barren alpine desert.

Ideal for group climbs, the Marangu Route offers a shared trekking experience, building camaraderie among adventurers while providing structured support from Kiliclimb Africa Safaris’ experienced guides and staff. Its hut-based accommodation makes it particularly suitable during rainy seasons (mid-March to late May, and late October to late December), keeping climbers dry and cozy throughout the journey
