Day 1 Arusha to Tarangire National Park
You will have breakfast at 7:00am and then be picked up by our driver-guide to commence your safari to Tarangire National Park. The transfer will take 2 hours, followed by a full day game drive. At the park, expect to see hippos, lions, elephants, zebras, pythons, oryx, buffalos, zebras, and more than 450 species of birds.
The name Tarangire originated from the Tarangire River, which winds through the parklands and is the only water source for wildlife here during the dry season. The park is also well-known for its large elephant herds, giant scattered baobab trees, and tree-climbing African pythons. You will see a variety of landscapes, from seasonal swamps to savannah. You will also get a chance to see a lion stalking its prey and leopards relaxing in the trees above. Once the game drive is complete, we will drive you back to your lodge to relax, have dinner, and stay overnight.
Day 2 Tarangire to Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, our safari guide will pick you up from your hotel/lodge and then proceed to Lake Manyara National Park for game viewing and a picnic lunch.
Lake Manyara National Park lies on the floor of the Great Rift Valley. Lake Manyara Park covers an area of only 330sq km (127sq mi), of which up to 200sq km (77sq mi) is made up of the lake when water levels are high. The park, with its underground water forest, supports the lives of many organisms. Lake Manyara is an excellent place for bird watching and a good area to find elephants, giraffes, zebras, baboons, warthogs, buffalos, and maybe even a legendary tree-climbing lion! During your game drive, you will leave your vehicle at the hippo pool to stretch your legs and observe the hippos.
Day 3 Serengeti National Park
After breakfast at 8:00am, you will commence your safari. Driving to Serengeti National Park via Olduvai Gorge takes about 3 to 4 hours. Olduvai George is an archaeological site on the eastern Serengeti plains where early human fossils were first discovered. It has amazing landscapes that resulted from the tectonic forces that created the Great Rift Valley millions of years ago. You will have a game drive until late in the afternoon. Finally, you will make your way toward your lodge inside the park for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.
Serengeti National Park is a world-renowned park in northern Tanzania, covering 14,763sq km (5,700sq mi). It is famous for its vast open grasslands, allowing excellent wildlife sightings. It is also well-known for its annual great migration of wildebeest. You will see a vast number of zebras, giraffes, wildebeests, antelopes, ostriches, and cheetahs. The Serengeti also has bush elephants, Cape buffaloes, and birds.
Day 4: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast at 8:00 AM, your driver-guide will pick you up at the hotel and begin your safari to Ngorongoro Conservation Area with a packed lunch in tow. You’ll descend into the crater for an exciting game viewing experience. Known as Africa’s Garden of Eden, Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest uninterrupted caldera and one of Africa’s wonders. The drive into the crater is thrilling, and once on the floor, you’ll encounter abundant grasslands, marshes, and woodlands teeming with wildlife, including hyenas, zebras, waterbuck, baboons, elephants, and over 500 bird species. Keep an eye out for the endangered black rhino in the open grass. After the safari, you will be transferred by road from the Loduare Gate back to Arusha, where you can head to the airport or your accommodation.
