Day 1: Arrival in Arusha – Gateway to Tanzania’s Wonders

Upon landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly received and transferred to Korona Villa or Ngaresero Mountain Lodge, your tranquil base nestled within lush Arusha surroundings. Take the evening to relax, recover from your flight, and prepare for the adventure ahead. Enjoy a welcome dinner and orientation briefing about your 12-day journey through Tanzania’s birding and cultural landscapes.

Day 2: Arusha Maasai Steppes – Birding and Cultural Immersion

Begin the day at 8:00 AM with your field crew and embark on a scenic drive north of Arusha. Stop along the way to observe and photograph local birdlife in open grasslands and acacia woodlands. Visit a traditional Maasai homestead, witness age-old customs, and join optional dancing and cultural demonstrations. Depending on the schedule, you may observe a traditional goat slaughter followed by a communal barbecue—a rare opportunity for immersive photography and cultural insight. Return to Arusha in the evening.

Day 3: Lake Manyara & Mto wa Mbu – Birds, Game, and Village Life
